If you start a sentence with, "I know this sounds silly but....," here's a reminder that what you're thinking and feeling isn't silly.
You're not silly.
You're human.
If you're anything like me and my clients, perfectionism can make you discredit your emotions and judge yourself too harshly.
Here are some reminders to lessen your shame and lighten your load.
As a human you get to...
- Feel irritated.
- Have a tantrum.
- Make a big deal out of a small thing.
- Feel frustrated over something that you know isn't logical.
- Feel wobbly when things are great.
- Feel joy and freedom without waiting for the other shoe to drop.
- Be nervous even though you've done it before and you're good at it.
- Scream.
- Laugh at hard, sad things.
Live YOUR life. Feel YOUR feelings. And know you're anything but silly. Unless, of course, silly means playful and fun. Then I'd recommend being as silly as you can imagine.
With Love,
