Every month, I share the books, quotes, and resources that have been stirring something in me—the same ones I find myself passing along to clients again and again. These aren’t just feel-good recommendations. They’re the tools that actually shift the way we think, lead, and live. So what's on my list this month? 1. Get a Better Problem Than Imposter Syndrome I don’t use the term imposter syndrome—and I don’t believe in it either. That might sound bold, but hear me out. While the feelings are real, the label? It’s disempowering. It medicalizes self-doubt and makes it sound like a chronic condition—when in reality, it’s often just fear, shaped by systems we’ve been raised in. Learn more in my recent blog post—and the Harvard Business article that inspired it. 2. The Quote That Keeps Finding Me "Your ability to tolerate your own discomfort will determine your success." This is a lesson I’ve learned the hard way—and now help my clients embody. Not by powering through, but by naming and sitting with their emotions. I’ve been rereading Atlas of the Heart by Brené Brown to deepen my own emotional fluency. I’m getting better—actually, quite good—at tolerating my discomfort, because I’ve stopped making it mean that something is wrong. Discomfort isn’t a red flag. It’s often a doorway. 3. The Song I'm Jammin' Last week, the song Pink Pony Club by Chappell Roan brought me to tears. To stop seeking approval. And follow their crazy visions (I love that opening line because crazy visions are often where the magic lies). That's full of herself embodied. I'm here for every audacious note of it. 4. Full of Herself Moments This Month - A client decided it’s time to leave the job where she’s been undervalued—and go where she knows her worth. - A client who works in data science decided she wants to become a coach! - I realized that I lean on self-pity when I'm off and have too much time to think. That awareness felt liberating because now I get to choose differently. Here's to women making powerful moves. With love, Sarah x |
