Whose expectations are you living for —and what would it look like to start living for your own?

How often do you catch yourself saying “yes” because you should—not because it feels right?

What would change if you started saying “yes” to what lights you up… instead of what keeps you looking like you’ve got it all together?

I carry a lot of expectations—of myself, and of others.
Half the time, I don’t even realize they’re there… until frustration, sadness, or resentment shows up like a surprise guest. That’s when I realize they’ve been riding shotgun all along.

And the truth is, expectations shape so many of our relationships—especially the ones that matter most.

Preston and I celebrate 15 years married today. That's a whole lot of mis-matched expectations over the years and one clear one: that we continue to choose each other.

So let me ask you:

Whose expectations are you living for?

And what would it look like to live for your own?

This isn’t an easy question, but it’s worth asking. Write it down. Reflect on it. Share it with someone who can hold space for your truth.

With Love,

Sarah x
